Bulgarian petroleum and gas association admitted two new members

At its meeting as of 07.10.2003 the Bulgarian Petroleum and Gas Association enlarged its rank and file with two new member-companies: EKO-ELDA BULGARIA –a company that is 100% property of EKO-ELDA ABEE, Athens, Greece having a network of petrol stations in many South-Eastern Europe countries and LITASKO BULGARIA – a company that is a part of the group of LukOil and its subject of activity is import of crude oil and sale of petroleum products. |

The petroleum market in Bulgara at present is completely liberalized. Prices are outside any State regulation or monitoring. There is a discussion in society and amongst stakeholders whether to include the petroleum products sector in the regulation exercised by the Energy Regulator with the future new Energy Act. Bulgarian Petroleum and Gas Association
was established in 1999 by the major companies active in the Petroleum and Gas industry in Bulgaria: "PETROL" AD, "SHELL BULGARIA" AD, "OVERGAS INC" AD, "SHELL GAS BULGARIA" AD, "TOPLIVO" AD. Nowadays members of the Association are also "OMV Bulgaria" EOOD, "Eco petroleum" and "Prista Oil" The Association was founded under the conditions of State monopoly in the petroleum industry. The dominating position of the State owned biggest refinery "Neftochim" and the non-privatized distributor "Petrol" determined the unequal basis for the players on the petroleum market.

Accepting new members
A member of the Association may become any company, involved in the petroleum and gas industry, which accepts the
Statute and the Code of Ethics and is ready to follow the decisions of the governing bodies of BPGA.
